      Probably the most famous parody of an artwork is Marcel Duchamp's take on Da Vinci's Mona Lisa:


* L.H.O.O.Q.:  The French pronunciation of the letters is said to sound like the phrase, "elle a chaud au cul."  It is Duchamp's idea of a pun (he should have stuck with painting).  The English translation?  Sorry, this is a family web site.
